Lucy Wanjiku Miano

Lucy Wanjiku Miano was born in Nyeri County, the first of seven children, and was raised in Laikipia from a very humble background. She began her primary education in 1978 and grew up like every other child of her time.

She joined high school in 1986 and went on to earn a diploma in Secretarial and Business Administration. She then took a job at a petroleum distribution company, where she worked as a secretary and administrator.

While working, she met her life partner, and on 6 August 1994 she married Stephen Mbogo. Together they are blessed with four children: Daniel, Victor, Jedeal and Joyce.

After ten years with the company she was retrenched, released with a service fee of about a thousand dollars. Life was not easy, so she started several small businesses to keep her family going.

The turning point came in March 2008, when a friend invited her to a Green World training. Going through the marketing plan, she was struck by the products, the compensation plan and the incentives. She started the business immediately and qualified for her first trip to China within two months.

From there she rose quickly. She earned a business car, opened a branch at Corner House in Nairobi with her husband as her business partner, and kept climbing: 8-Star in 2013, Manager ranks and a luxury car in 2015, and 3-Star Manager in 2017 with a house-fund award of USD 150,000, presented during Green World Kenya's 10th anniversary. In 2019 she became a Director, and has since advanced to 3-Star Director.

Through her team, the Divine Destiny Team (DDT), Lucy and Stephen have built more teams and developed leaders across Kenya and East Africa. As she puts it, success is measured not only by what you achieve, but by the people you help along the way.
